Today’s Top Ten Tuesday is all about the books that I have read in the past year that are totally underrated on Goodreads. This was one of my favorite topics from last year, but unfortunately this year it was really hard to pick just ten books for this list, and for a very sad reason. Almost all of the books I’ve read fall into the “underrated” category! Isn’t that terrible?! However, I can promise that, despite their lack of reviews, these are ten fantastic novels, and you can bet my reviews of them are on Goodreads!
Trust My Heart by
Carol J. Post
Trust My Heart is Carol’s most recent stand-alone novel.
Grant McAllister
arrives in Murphy, North Carolina, with one aim: to sell his inherited property
and leave as quickly as possible. The big-city lawyer has no interest in his
late, estranged grandparents or the dilapidated mansion he just acquired. After
his high-profile divorce, he should be avoiding perky reporters, too. But Jami
Carlisle is honest, funny, and undeniably appealing.
After breaking up with
her safe-but-smothering boyfriend, Jami is determined to ace her first big assignment.
A story about the McAllister estate is too intriguing to ignore—much like its
handsome, commitment-phobic heir. Thanks to her digging, the pieces of Grant’s fraught
family history are gradually fitting into place, but also upending all his old
beliefs.
The two draw closer as
they share their dreams, until misread signals and misunderstandings begin to
test their trust. But in the unspoiled beauty of the Smoky Mountains, there’s
healing and forgiveness to be found. And for Grant, this unplanned detour may
be just what’s needed to finally guide him home.
Wild Montana Skies by
Susan May Warren
Wild Montana Skies is the first book in Susan’s new Montana Rescue series.
Search and rescue
pilot Kacey Fairing is home on leave in Mercy Falls, Montana, twelve years
after she joined the military to escape the mistakes of her past. With a job
waiting for her as the new lead pilot of Peak Rescue in Glacier National Park,
Kacey hopes to reconnect with the now-teenage daughter she sees only between
deployments. What she doesn’t realize is that someone else is also back in
town.
Ben King has been building
his country music career since the day Kacey shut him out of her life. Now all
of that’s on hold when his injured father calls him home to help run Peak
Rescue until he’s fully recovered. It doesn’t take long, though, to discover
his father’s ulterior motives as Kacey Fairing walks into the house and back
into his heart.
With Mercy Falls in a
state of emergency due to flash floods, Kacey and Ben are forced to work
together to save lives. But when floodwaters turn personal, can they put aside
the past to save their future?
A Match of Wits by
Jen Turano
A Match of Wits is the fourth book in Jen’s Ladies of Distinction series, coming after A Change of Fortune, A Most Peculiar Circumstance, and A Talent for Trouble.
After his departure
from New York two years ago to meet up with his almost-fiancee, Zayne Beckett
is the last person Agatha Watson wanted to stumble upon in her travels as a
reporter with the New York Tribune. Quite
pathetically bedraggled, he clearly needs to be taken in hand and sent back
East to his family. Although she no longer has feelings for him, Agatha
realizes, by hook or by crook, she’ll have to be the one to get the obstinate
man home.
Zayne has no desire to
be taken anywhere and is prepared to drag his heels all the way home…until he
finds himself slipping back into the familiar banter of his former friendship
with Agatha. Once they arrive in New York, Zayne realizes Agatha’s determined
nose for news has earned her a few enemies, and he hopes to repay her help with
some of his own. When she rebuffs all his attempts to prove himself a knight in
shining armor, the lengths to which they’ll go to win this battle of wills lead
to some memorable antics.
Everyone else may
think them a match, but nothing could be further from the truth—until Agatha
finds herself in real trouble. Have these two stubborn,
too-smart-for-their-own-good people been meant for each other all along?
Keep Holding On by
Melissa Tagg
Keep Holding On is the third book in Melissa’s Walker Family series, coming after From the Start and Like Never Before.
Beckett Walker hasn’t
stepped foot in Maple Valley in years. There’s no getting past the painful
memories, and there’s every chance he’ll be arrested as soon as he shows his
face. Which is exactly what happens when he finally returns. Suddenly his dream
of adventure as a military lawyer comes skidding to a halt.
Horticulturist Kit
Danby has spent too much time missing home and her childhood best friend—Beckett
Walker. Now she might have a shot at reclaiming both. After years of living
abroad, she returns to run her family’s apple orchard. She has one season to
turn a profit and impress the father she barely knows. But she can’t do it
alone.
It should be simple:
Beckett needs community service hours. Kit needs a helping hand. But there’s
more at stake than either of them planned. With a tangled past and futures that
look nothing alike, they’ll have to find a way to weather the storms of the
present…or risk losing everything.
Twilight at Blueberry
Barrens by Colleen Coble
Twilight at Blueberry Barrens is the third book in Colleen’s Sunset Cove series, coming after The Inn at Ocean’s Edge and Mermaid Moon.
“I need you to keep these girls
safe.”
Kate Mason has devoted
herself to caring for her family’s blueberry barrens. But after her fields stop
producing fruit, she’s forced to come up with alternative ways to make a
living.
Renting out the small
cottage on her property seems an obvious choice, but it won’t be enough. When entrepreneur
Drake Newham shows up looking not only for a place to rent but also for a nanny
for his two nieces, it’s almost too good to be true. And maybe it is—because Drake
brings with him dangerous questions about who might be out to kill his family.
The more time Kate
spends with Drake and the girls, the more difficult it becomes to hide her
attraction to him. But a family crisis isn’t exactly the ideal time to pursue a
romance.
Meanwhile, Kate learns
that her uncle—in prison for murder—as escaped. Add to that a local stalker who
won’t leave her alone, and Kate is looking over her shoulder at every turn. With
threats swirling from multiple directions, she wonders if her blueberry fields
will ever flourish again…or if this twilight is her last.
A Lady Unrivaled by
Roseanna M. White
A Lady Unrivaled is the third book in Roseanna’s Ladies of the Manor series, coming after
The Lost Heiress and A Reluctant Duchess.
Amid the unforgettable Cotswolds,
the final grasp for the Fire Eyes diamonds could threaten them all.
Lady Ella Myerston can
always find a reason to smile—even if it’s just in hope that tomorrow will be better
than today. All her life everyone has tried to protect her from the realities
of the world, but Ella knows very well how the dangerous Fire Eyes diamonds
have haunted her brother and their friends, and she won’t wait for peril to
strike again. She intends to take action…and if that happens to involve an
adventurous trip to the Cotswolds, then so much the better.
Lord James Cayton has
already broken two hearts, including that of his first wife, who died before he
could convince himself to love her. Now he’s determined to live a better life…but
that proves complicated when old acquaintances pull Cayton into their desperate
attempt to seize the jewels. He does his best to remove the intriguing Lady
Ella from danger, but the stubborn girl won’t budge. How else can he redeem
himself, though, but by saving her—and his daughter—from those intent on
destroying them all?
Ties That Bind by
Cindy Woodsmall
Ariana’s comfortable Old Order
Amish world is about to unravel. Will holding tightly to the cords of family
keep them together—or simply tear them apart.
Twenty-year-old Ariana
Brenneman loves her family and the Old Ways. She has two aspirations: open a café
in historic Summer Grove to help support her family’s ever-expanding brood and
to keep any other Amish from being lured into the Englisch life by Quill
Schlabach.
Five years ago Quill,
along with her dear friend Frieda, ran off together, and Ariana still carries
the wounds of that betrayal. When she unexpectedly encounters him, she soon
realizes he has plans to help someone else she loves leave the Amish.

look, Quill’s goal has always been to protect Ariana from anything that may
hurt her, including the reasons he left. After returning to Summer Grove on
another matter, he unearths secrets about Ariana and her family that she is
unaware of. His love and loyalty to her beckons him to try to win her trust and
help her find a way to buy the café—because when she learns the truth that
connects her and a stranger named Skylar Nash, Quill knows it may upend her
life forever.
Until the Harvest by
Sarah Loudin Thomas
Until the Harvest is the second book in Sarah’s Appalachian Blessings series, coming
after Miracle in a Dry Season.
When family tragedy derails
Henry Phillips’s college studies, he’s left unmoored and feeling abandoned. The
only things that can tamp down his grief are the family farm, his fiddle, and
an unexpected friendship with the sweet but unusual preteen Mayfair Hoffman.
Unfortunately, Mayfair’s
older sister, Margaret, despite her spray of freckles and cute, turned-up nose,
has a completely different effect. His grandmother’s helper, she’s always
around, ready to push his buttons, and it seems at first that she doesn’t care
about his troubles.
Henry soon realizes,
though, that Margaret’s facing her own struggles. Mayfair’s health and unique
gift sit at the heart of those worries. Henry and Margaret soon find themselves
relying on each other as potential tragedy collides with growing hope in a warm
story of family bonds and the surprising ways healing finds us all.
The Magnolia Duchess
by Beth White
The Magnolia Duchess is the third book in Beth’s Gulf Coast Chronicles series, coming
after The Pelican Bride and The Creole Princess.
As the War of 1812 rages across
the newly formed United States, another war rages in Fiona Lanier’s heart—one that
threatens to tear her family apart.
Fiona can scarcely
take in the news of her brother’s capture and imprisonment by the British Navy.
It is almost as unbelievable as the half-drowned British sailor who is washed
ashore on the beach of Navy Cove.
Charlie Kincaid claims
to have no memory of his life before being discovered by Fiona, but in a world
that seems saturated with treachery, she cannot be sure he is telling the
truth.
As Charlie’s memory
returns in agonizing jags and crashes, he and Fiona discover that falling in
love may be as inevitable as the tide. But when political allegiances collide,
they’ll each have to decide where their true loyalty lies.
Sister Dear by Laura
McNeill
Sister Dear is Laura’s most recent stand-alone novel.
All Allie Marshall wants is a
fresh start. But when dark secrets refuse to stay buried, will her chance at a
new life be shattered forever?
Convicted of a crime
she didn’t commit, Allie watched a decade of her life vanish—time that can
never be recovered. Now, out on parole, Allie is determined to clear her name,
rebuild her life, and reconnect with the daughter she barely knows.
But Allie’s return
home shatters the quaint, coastal community of Brunswick, Georgia. Even her own
daughter Caroline, now a teenager, bristles at Allie’s claims of innocence. Refusing
defeat, a stronger, smarter Allie launches a battle for the truth, digging
deeply into the past even if it threatens her parole status, personal safety,
and the already fragile bond with family.
As her commitment to
finding the truth intensifies, what Allie ultimately uncovers is far worse than
she imagined. Her own sister has been hiding a dark secret—one that holds the
key to Allie’s freedom.

I still wish the mountain one had real Montana places, says the girl from Montana. I cannot wait until I get to "read-read" again where it is for pleasure and not textbooks. Whoot Whoot. (yes I just said that). I may have to try some of these out.
