Today’s Top Ten Tuesday is all about books that I have lately added to my TBR list. I’m constantly adding books to my list, so this was a super fun post for me! These are listed in order from the absolute most recent book to the later recent books, so you know exactly what I’ve been adding lately!
A Fragile Hope by
Cynthia Ruchti
A Fragile Hope releases next April!
Josiah’s Chamberlain’s
life’s work revolves around repairing other people’s marriages. When his own is
threatened by his wife’s unexplained distance, and then threatened further when
she’s unexpectedly plunged into an unending fog, Josiah finds his expertise,
quick wit, and clever quips are no match for a relationship that is clearly
broken.
Feeling betrayed,
confused, and ill-equipped for a crisis this crippling, he reexamines
everything he knows about the fragility of hope and the strength of his faith
and love. Love seems to have failed him. Will what’s left of his faith fail
him, too? Or will it be the one thing that holds him together and sears through
the impenetrable wall that separates them?
A Love So True by
Melissa Jagears
A Love So True is the second book in Melissa’s Teaville Moral Society series, coming after A Heart Most Certain, and it releases next May!
Evelyn Wisely has a
heart for the orphans of Teaville and works at a local mansion that rescues
children out of the town’s red-light district and gives them a place to live. But
her desire to help isn’t limited to orphans. The owner of the mansion, Nicholas
Lowe, is willing to help her try to get the women working in prostitution out
of the district as well—if she can gain the cooperation and support of local
businessmen to go against the rest of the community.
David Kingsman has
recently arrived in Teaville from Kansas City to help with one of his father’s
companies in town. While he plans on staying only long enough to prove his
business merit to his father, he’s shown interest in Evelyn’s work and is
intrigued enough by her to lend his support to her cause.
They begin with the
best of intentions, but soon the complications pile up and Evelyn and David’s
dreams look more unattainable every day. When the revelation of a long held
secret creates a seemingly insurmountable rift between them, can they trust God
still has a good plan for them despite all that is stacked against them?
With You Always by
Jody Hedlund
With You Always is the first book in Jody’s Orphan Train series, and releases next June!
When a financial
crisis in 1850s New York leaves three orphaned sisters nearly destitute, the
oldest Elise Neumann, knows she must take action. She’s had experience as a seamstress,
and the New York Children’s Aid Society has established a special service:
placing out seamstresses and trade girls. Even though Elise doesn’t want to
leave her sisters for a job in Illinois, she realizes this may be their last chance.
The son of one of New
York City’s wealthiest entrepreneurs, Thornton Quincy faces a dilemma. His father
is dying, and in order to decide which of his sons will inherit everything, he
is requiring them to do two things in six months: build a sustainable town
along the Illinois Central Railroad, and get married Thornton is tired of standing
in his twin brother’s shadow and is determined to win his father’s challenge. He
doesn’t plan on meeting a feisty young woman on his way west, though.
True to You by Becky
Wade
True to You is the first book in Becky’s Bradford Sisters series, and releases next May!
After a devastating
heartbreak three years ago, genealogist and historical village owner Nora
Bradford has decided that burying her nose in her work and her books is far
safer than romance in the here and now.
Unlike Nora, former
Navy SEAL and Medal of Honor recipient John Lawson is a modern-day man usually
100 percent focused on the present. But when he’s diagnosed with an inherited
condition, he’s forced to dig into the secrets of his past and his adoption as
an infant, enlisting Nora to help him uncover the identity of his birth mother.
The more time they
spend together, the more this pair of opposites suspects they just might be a
perfect match. However, John’s already dating someone and Nora’s not sure she’s
ready to trade her crushes on fictional heroes for the risks of a real
relationship. Finding the answers they’re seeking will test the limits of their
identity, their faith, and their devotion to one another.
Peace in the Valley
by Ruth Logan Herne
Peace in the Valley is the third book in Ruth’s Double S Ranch series, coming after Back in the Saddle and Home on the Range, and it releases next
May.
In spite of past
differences, Trey Walker Stafford would never forget how his uncle, a cowboy and
rancher, adopted him and made him part of the family. He’d left the Double S
Ranch to pursue music against Sam’s wishes and returns discouraged about life
and love after tragically losing his wife. Trey feels that he’s living a lie,
singing of love and happily-ever-afters while dealing with an emptiness within.
Will sacrificing part of himself to help Sam fill the void? Or could it come
from befriending the single mother who needs help with her farm?
Can Trey find the “Peace
in the Valley” he’s sought for so long?
A Name Unknown by
Roseanna M. White
A Name Unknown is the first book in Roseanna’s Shadows Over England series, and comes out next July.
Rosemary Gresham has
no family beyond the band of former urchins that helped her survive as a girl
in the mean streets of London. Grown now, they concentrate on stealing
high-value items and have learned how to blend into upper-class society. But when
Rosemary must determine whether a certain wealthy gentleman is loyal to Britain
or to Germany, she is in for the challenge of a lifetime. How does one steal a
family’s history, their very name?
Peter Holstein, given
his family’s German blood, writes his popular series of novels under a pen
name. With European politics boiling and his own neighbors suspicious of him,
Peter debates whether it might be best to change his name for good. When Rosemary
shows up at his door pretending to be a historian and offering to help him
trace his family history, his question might be answered.
But as the two work together
and Rosemary sees his gracious reaction to his neighbors’ scornful attacks, she
wonders if her assignment is going down the wrong path. Is it too late to help
him prove that he’s more than his name?
The Honorable Heir by
Laurie Alice Eakes
The Honorable Heir just re-released this past October!
An American heiress
and widow of a rakish English earl, Catherine has returned to New York high
society determined to make amends for the scandal she caused when she crossed
the Atlantic to elope with her best friend’s suitor and win the title of Lady
Bisterne. But a ruined reputation isn’t the only thing that’s followed her
home: Lord Tristram Wolfe, the rightful heir to the Bisterne estate, has vowed
to track down his family’s stolen jewels—gems he’s certain Catherine stole.
Catherine has more to
think about than charming, handsome Tristram and his accusations, even if he’s
beginning to change her mind about never returning to England. Back at her
family’s Tuxedo Park estate, she resolves to restore her honor by earning the
forgiveness of her best friend and protecting her younger sister from other
fortune-seeking Englishmen with dubious titles, all while abiding by the
etiquette of the Gilded Age.
Yet when Tristram’s
quest takes a dangerous turn, she must decide whether to follow the rules or
save her accuser’s life.
High as the Heavens
by Kate Breslin
High as the Heavens releases next summer!

In 1917, Evelyn Marche
is just one of many women who has been widowed by the war. A British nurse
trapped in German-occupied Brussels, she spends her days working at a hospital
and her night as a waitress in her aunt and uncle’s café. Eve also has a
carefully guarded secret keeping her in constant danger: She’s a spy working
for a Belgian resistance group in league with the British Secret Service.
When a British plane
crashes in Brussels Park, Eve is the first to reach the downed plane and is
shocked to discover she recognizes the badly injured pilot. British RFC Captain
Simon Forrester is now a prisoner or war, and Eve knows he could be shot as a
spy at any time. She risks her own life to hide him from the Germans, but as
the danger mount and the secrets between them grow, their chance of survival
looks grim. And even if they do make it out alive, the truth of what lies
between them may be more than any love can overcome.
Truly Madly Guilty
Liane Moriarty
Truly Madly Guilty would be the first book I have ever read by
Liane.
Six responsible adults. Three
cute kids. One small dog. It’s just a normal weekend. What could possibly go
wrong?
Sam and Clementine
have a wonderful, albeit busy life: they have two little girls, Sam has just
started a new dream job, and Clementine, a cellist, is busy preparing for the
audition of a lifetime. If there’s anything they can count on, it’s each other.
Clementine and Erika
are each other’s closest friends. A single look between them can convey an
entire conversation. But theirs is a complicated relationship, so when Erika
mentions a last minute invitation to a barbecue with her neighbors, Tiffany and
Vid, Clementine and Sam don’t hesitate. Having Tiffany and Vid’s larger than
life personalities there will be a welcome respite.
Two months later, it
won’t stop raining, and Clementine and Sam can’t stop asking themselves the
question: What if we hadn’t gone?
The Saddle Maker’s
Son by Kelly Irvin
The Saddle Maker’s Son is the third book in Kelly’s The Amish of Bee County series, coming
after The Beekeeper’s Son and The Bishop’s Son.
Rebekah Lantz feels imprisoned by
circumstances she didn’t create. Tobias Byler is haunted by regret. Can two
young runaways from half a world away teach them the healing power of true
family?
Rebekah isn’t like her
sister who left the Amish faith, but the watchful gaze of her family and small,
close-knit Amish community makes her feel as if she’s been judged and found
lacking. The men avoid her and the women whisper behind her back. She simply
longs for the same chance to be a wife and mother that her friends have.
Tobias Byler only
wants to escape his feelings for a woman he knows he should never have allowed
to get close to him. Moving with his family to isolated Bee County, Texas,
seemed the best way to leave his mistakes behind. But even a move across the
county can’t erase the past that accompanies his every thought.
A surprise encounter
with two half-starved runaway children forces Rebekah and Tobias to turn to
each other to help a sister and brother who have traveled thousands of miles in
search of lives of unfettered peace and joy.
In doing so, Rebekah
and Tobias discover the key to forgetting the past is the one that will open
the door to love and the future they both seek.
