How is it already August? I feel as if this summer just
started, and yet it’s somehow already almost over and I haven’t accomplished
even half of the things that I wanted to. But, I have enjoyed myself, and that’s
what matters! That being said, here are some new books I can’t wait to enjoy!

Guardians bodyguard Haley Callaghan’s life is suddenly in danger. Haley knows
how to take care of herself; after all, she’s made a career out of taking care
of others. But after she has an uncomfortably close call, Detective Steven
Rothwell takes it upon himself to stay with her—and the young client she has
taken under her wing. A protector at heart, he’s not about to let Haley fight
this battle alone.

Steven will have to solve the mystery of Haley’s past while dodging bullets,
bombs, and bad guys who just won’t quit.

native man who encourages her to see God in all circumstances.

Betsy’s captivity, Hans turns to Tessa Bauer for comfort. She responds eagerly,

and Sy Rutledge is beer and bullocks.
Sy needs someone to
help him maneuver his way through Nashville’s society, and when he meets
Alexandra Jamison, he quickly decides he’s found his tutor. Only, he soon
discovers that the very train accident his father is blamed for causing is what
killed Alexandra Jamison’s fiancé—and has shattered her world.

by her father, Alexandra instead pursues her passion for teaching at Fisk
University, the first freedmen’s university in the United States. But family—and
Nashville society—do not approve, and she soon finds herself cast out from
both.
Through connections
with the Harding family, Alexandra and Sy become unlikely allies. And despite
her first impressions, Alexandra gradually finds herself coming to respect, and

The Promise of a Letter is the second book in Kathleen’s Amish Letters series, coming after Written in Love.
A letter brings him back to his
Amish family. It will take someone truly extraordinary to make him stay.
Roman is on the verge
of leaving the Amish ways. Feeling confined by the strict rules, he longs to do
something more with his life. But when things don’t go as planned, Roma’s
prospects outside of the community dwindle. Upon learning that his beloved
grandmother has died and left a letter urging him to reconcile with his brother
in Birch Creek, Roman decides to return home. But he doesn’t plan to stay for
long.
Leanna Chupp has
always made her own way in her small community of Birch Creek. Though some may
call her unconventional—strange, even—Leanna is happy. Her unique outlook on
life has meant she’s never had many suitors pursuing courtship, which Leanna
doesn’t mind. She’s content being single.
But when Roman and Leanna
find themselves working together again, everything changes. Though neither fit
squarely within the strictures of the Amish faith, their differences could be
the very thing to help them form a deeper connection to their community and to
each other. The question remains: will this strengthening bond be enough to
make Roman stay for good?

a new life doing noble work in Brazil…until his past catches up to him once
again. Suddenly he finds himself back in Maple Valley, charged with the care of
his missing brother’s children, convinced he’s out of second chances to make
his life count.

Fear holds Raegan’s future
captive.
Raegan Walker is fine.

everyone…and herself. But she can’t help wondering what might’ve happened if
she hadn’t abandoned her art so many years ago—and if Bear McKinley had never
left. When Bear returns and she’s commissioned for a painting that just might
revive her artistic ambition all in one week, it’s time to finally reach for
more than fine. But doing so means facing the fears that have held her back all
this time, including admitting the secret she’s kept from Bear and her family. With
her dream and her heart on the line, how much will Raegan have to risk to
finally chase her happy ending?
