Top Ten Tuesday: All Time Favorites

Today’s Top Ten Tuesday is all about my all-time favorite books of whatever genre I choose! Since I mostly only read Christian Fiction, I decided that would be the genre I would talk about today, and I didn’t do a thing to try to slim down this topic. I just went to my all-time favorites list on Goodreads and went through it looking for books I absolutely LOVED, and then narrowed them down once I had a good list by remembering just what I thought about each book when I read it. Somehow it worked as I only have ten books on this list, and I can confidently say they are most likely ten of my absolute most favorite books. Check them out!

Justified by Varina Denman
Justified is the second book in Varina’s Mended Hearts series, coming after Jaded, and is a book I still cannot forget even months after reading it.

A rebellious young woman seeks redemption for her sins, but can she forgive herself?
In a small Texas town ruled by gossip, Fawn Blaylock believes others are justified in condemning her untimely pregnancy. Stifled by guilt, she years for the grace she has never been willing to bestow on others. Hope begins to stir when the local football coach offers gentle strength to help Fawn reawaken her heart and redeem her past.
Justified perfectly captures the rhythm and romance of life in a small town, chronicling the life of a woman searching for renewal, a man looking beyond what others see, and a community torn between judgement and love. It is the unforgettable story of broken dreams, second chances, and relentless hope.

The Captive Maiden by Melanie Dickerson
The Captive Maiden is a wonderful Cinderella retelling that I could read again and again.

Happily ever after…or happily nevermore?
Gisela’s childhood was filled with laughter and visits from nobles such as the duke and his young son. But since her father’s death, each day has been filled with nothing but servitude to her stepmother. So when Gisela learns the duke’s son, Valten—the boy she has daydreamed about for years—is throwing a ball in hopes of finding a wife, she vows to find a way to attend, even if it’s only for a taste of a life she’ll never have. To her surprise, she catches Valten’s eye.
Though he is rough around the edges, Gisela fins Valten has completely captured her heart. But other forces are bent on keeping the two from falling further in love, putting Gisela in more danger than she ever imagined.

How to Catch a Prince by Rachel Hauck
How to Catch a Prince is the third book in Rachel Hauck’s Royal Weddings series, coming after Once Upon a Prince and Princess Ever After.

Behind him, beside him, before him, the synchronized cathedral bells began to ring out. One, two, three…Then she said it first. The words his heart burst to share. “I love you, Stephen. You are my true prince.”
American heiress Corina Del Rey caught her prince once. But the tragedy of war kept her too long in a fog of grief. Now she’s shifting her life forward, reigniting her career as a journalist. Still, nothing can relieve her of the secret and the love she carries in her soul.
Prince Stephen of Brighton is one of the world’s most eligible bachelors and a star rugby player, trying to make sense of his life. His days in Afghanistan with the Royal Air Command will mark him forever. And he can’t seem to shake their dark shadow.
But when his brother, King Nathaniel, confronts him with a document the prince thought long buried and forgotten, Stephen is forced to face the pain of his past and the love he left behind.
With a little heavenly help, Prince Stephen and Corina embark on a journey of truth. But when the secrets are revealed, can they overcome and find love again?

Dancing with Fireflies by Denise Hunter
Dancing with Fireflies is the second book in Denise’s Chapel Springs series, coming after Barefoot Summer, and has been one of my favorite books in the whole world ever since the first day I read it.

Jade returns home to Chapel Springs after years of protecting her fragile heart. Then along comes Daniel, making her long to dance again.
Growing up in the Midwestern river town of Chapel Springs, Indiana, Jade McKinley felt like a weed in a rose garden. When she left, she thought she’d never look back. Now, pregnant, alone, and broke, she has no other choice but to return.
The mayor of Chapel Springs, Daniel Dawson, has been an honorary member of the McKinley family for years. While his own home life was almost nonexistent, Daniel fit right in with the boisterous McKinley family. He’s loved Jade for years, but she always thought of him as a big brother. Now that she’s back, his feelings are stronger than ever.
As Jade attempts to settle in, nothing feels right. God seems far away, she’s hiding secrets from her family, and she’s strangely attracted to the man who’s always called her “squirt.” Returning home may prove more difficult—and more wonderful—than she ever imagined.

An Elegant Façade by Kristi Ann Hunter
An Elegant Façade is the second book in Kristi Ann’s Hawthorne House series, coming after A Noble Masquerade. It’s such a great, captivating book, and I’ve been dying to read it again ever since I read it last month!

Lady Georgina Hawthorne has always known she must marry well. After years of tirelessly planning every detail of her debut season, she is poised to be a smashing success and have her choice of eligible gentlemen.
With money and powerful business connections but no title, Colin McCrae is invited everywhere but accepted nowhere. He intends to marry someday, but when he does it will not be to a shallow woman like Lady Georgina, whose only concerns appear to be status and appearance.
But beneath her flawless exterior, Georgina’s social aspirations stem from a shameful secret she is desperately trying to keep hidden—and that Colin is too close to discovering. Drawn to each other despite their mutual intent to avoid association, is the realization of their dreams worth the sacrifices they’ll be forced to make?

Save the Date by Jenny B. Jones
Save the Date is a fantastic novel I’ve already read at least three times, and I still can’t get enough of!

You are cordially invited to the wedding of the year with the most unlikely bride and groom. Save the date…and say your prayers.
When funding for Lucy’s non-profit job is pulled, she is determined to find out why. Enter Alex Sinclair, former professional football star and heir to Sinclair Enterprises—the primary donor to Lucy’s non-profit organization.
Both Lucy and Alex have something the other desperately wants.
Alex has it all…except for the votes he needs to win his bid for Congress. Despite their mutual dislike, Alex makes Lucy a proposition: pose as his fiancée in return for the money she desperately needs. Bound to a man who isn’t quite what he seems, Lucy finds her heart—and her future—on the line.

The Hearts We Mend by Kathryn Springer
The Hearts We Mend is the second of Kathryn’s Banister Falls novels, and is so sweet and touching and I just really love it.

Planning and Post-It notes are the epitome of Evie’s life. But when she meets Jack, her life gets more than a little complicated.
Thirteen years ago, Evie’s firefighter husband was killed in the line of duty, leaving her to raise their young son, Cody, alone. Now Cody is marrying the love of his life, and as he packs up his belongings, the house feels as empty as Evie’s heart. But for all her planning and mad organizational skills, Evie could never have anticipated the dramatic shift her life is about to make.
Tattooed, rough-around-the-edges Jack raises quite a few eyebrows in the tight-knit community of Banister Falls. Where Evie’s life is stream-lined, Jack’s approach to living is moment-by-moment. But as Evie gets drawn into Jack’s world—a world that isn’t as safe or predictable as the one she’s worked so hard to create—he challenges her to open her eyes to the problems outside the walls of the church.
Jack doesn’t make Evie feel comfortable, but he definitely makes her feel something. Something she hasn’t felt since Max passed away—or maybe ever. Because even though Jack isn’t anything like her late husband, he just might be everything she needs.

The Wonder of You by Susan May Warren
The Wonder of You is the fifth book in Susan’s Christiansen Family series, coming after Take a Chance on Me, It Had to Be You, When I Fall in Love, and Always on My Mind. I’m a HUGE fan of the whole series, but this one is by far my favorite.

Mortified after her semester abroad is cut short, Amelia Christiansen returns to Deep Haven, certain she isn’t brave enough for the adventures she’s dreamed of. The last thing she expects is for the man who broke her heart to cross the Atlantic and beg forgiveness.
Heir to a European hotel dynasty, Roark St. John has trekked from one exotic locale to another, haunted by tragedy and the expectations that accompany his last name. Amelia is the first woman to give him a reason to stop running. He’ll do anything for a second chance—even contend with Amelia’s old flame, who is intent on sending Roark packing.
While one surprise after another leaves Amelia reeling, Roark’s continued presence only highlights the questions pursuing her. Like him, is she running from the life God has called her to? Could finding her new place mean leaving home behind?

The Reluctant Duchess by Roseanna M. White
The Reluctant Duchess is the second book in Roseanna’s Ladies of the Manor series, coming after The Lost Heiress, and has somehow beaten out Whispers from the Shadows as my favorite of Roseanna’s novels.

Will fleeing the Scottish Highlands only leave her in more danger?
Lady Rowena Kinnaird may be the heiress to a Highland earldom, but she’s never felt good enough—not for her father, not for the man she thought she’d marry, not for God. But after a shocking attack, she’s willing to be forever an outcast if it means escaping those threatening her life.
Brice Myerston, the Duke of Nottingham, has never been one to shy away from manor-born ladies, yet the last thing he needs is the distraction of the newly introduced Lady Rowena. He has enough on his plate having recently come into possession of a rare treasure for which many would kill, yet those around him seem intent on pairing him with this desperate but beguiling girl.
Rowena is reluctant to marry this notorious flirt. And when she learns that Brice is mixed up with some kind of questionable business with a stolen treasure, she fears she’ll end up in more danger than she fled.

No Other Will Do by Karen Witemeyer
No Other Will Do is a captivating, heart-touching story that is by far my favorite of Karen’s books. And I love all of them, so that says a lot.

She trusts him for the job, but can she trust him with her heart?
Men are optional. That was the credo Emma Chandler’s suffragette aunts taught her and why she established Harper’s Station, a woman’s colony that offers a fresh start to females in need. But when a dangerous and shadowy assailant tries repeatedly to drive the women out, Emma is forced to admit they might need a man after all. One who can fight. And there is only one man she trust enough to ask.
Malachi Shaw has finally earned the respect he’s always craved by becoming an explosives expert for the railroad. Yet when Emma’s telegram arrives, he rushes back to Texas to repay the girl who once saved his life. Only she’s not a girl any longer. She’s a woman with a mind of her own and a smile that makes a man imagine a future he doesn’t deserve.
As the danger intensifies, Emma, Mal, and the ladies of Harper’s Station must choose safety or whether to risk everything to fight for their future.

Well, those are my all-time favorite Christian fiction novels! What about you? What are some of your favorite books?
Happy Tuesday and happy reading!

  1. I don't read a ton of religious fiction (too preachy most of the time), but I do love a good, clean story that engages and inspires. The series you mentioned first sounds like one I would like. Thanks for the heads-up.

    Happy TTT!

    1. I haven't found a series yet that seemed to preachy, but I can understand how that would be a turn-off. I'm glad you found something you might like!
