Happy Monday! I struggled for a long time with what I wanted
to write about for today’s post, so I ended up deciding on talking about two
different things that have been on my mind the last couple of days. First of
all, I am sure many of you have heard about Hurricane Matthew and its effects
here on the coast of Florida, South Carolina, and North Carolina. While I don’t
live on the coast, my area was still affected to some degree by the storm. We dealt
with rain, strong winds, and power outages here in the Midlands, and just
seeing the hurricane’s effects here kept those closer to the storm on my mind
all weekend. Although my area of the state was extremely blessed by being saved
from the worst part of the storm, many areas near me were not so fortunate, so
they are constantly in my prayers.
I don’t know nearly as much as I should about the widespread
damage all over the state, but I know that we are dealing with downed trees and
power lines, possible flooding of rivers and lakes and the like, closed roads,
and damaged houses, and all other things that you deal with when you are faced
with a hurricane. But I know that we are so blessed, not only in my city but
all over, because it could have been so much worse than it was (remember
Hugo?). So, I am keeping everyone in my prayers, but I am also thanking the
Lord that He saved us from even more destruction.
Now for the other thing that has been on my mind. For the
last few days I have been toying with the idea of adding fashion to my list of
things I talk about on this blog. I love wearing cute outfits, although I’m not
exactly the best at coming up with them, and I’ve been thinking it would be fun
to share them with all of my readers. I don’t really know anything about
fashion blogging, however, so it would be a learning process for me. I haven’t
actually made a decision yet; I might just try it out and see where it goes
from there, but I would really love y’alls opinion! What do you think? Should I
add fashion to my list of things to blog about?
And now on to the linkup!

First, I too am glad the hurricane is over. I hope and pray that those damaged can find the help they need and that others will help out too. I am an American living over in Spain now but if I was close by, I'd see what sorts of volunteering I could do.
ReplyDeleteAnd two, if you want to blog about fashion, you should! My favorite thing about fashion blogs are that they are what you make them. There are no wrong answers in personal style. So if you want to, you absolutely should! I love outfit shoots ... I put something fun together and pick a nice place in my city.

I agree; it is so important that everyone who can gets out and volunteers! Thanks, I'm really thinking I might add fashion to my list of things to blog about! I think it might could be really fun; and thanks for the vote of confidence!
DeleteAlthough I'm nowhere near the storms here in the midwest, I can't stop thinking about all the people whose lives have been turned upside down and have lost so much. I'm so glad that you're safe where you are.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see your style posts too! :)
Thank you! I'm glad I'm safe as well, but my heart really goes out to my friends and neighbors who are not! Aw, thanks! I'm seriously thinking about posting them, and I'm getting kind of excited!
