How is it already almost July? This summer is flying by, and
I am not happy about it because that means school is right around the corner. However,
there are so many wonderful novels releasing over the next few months, so I am
excited about that! Here are some new reads you should definitely check out!

My Bookshelf: The Captain’s Daughter by Jennifer Delamere
London 1879. Forced to leave all
she loves behind, she seeks a new life in a city bursting with opportunity, but
fraught with danger.
When a series of
circumstances beyond her control leaves Rosalyn Bernay alone and penniless in
London, she chances upon a job backstage at a theater putting on the most
popular show in the city. A talented musician and singer, she feels immediately
at home and soon becomes enthralled with the idea of pursuing a career on the
stage. That is, as long as the shadows from her past don’t catch up with her.
After a hand injury
forces Nate Moran from his army regiment in India, he returns home to London, a
place that holds bitter memories. He agrees to fill in temporarily as a
stagehand while his brother recuperates from a broken leg, but Nate is counting
down the days until he can rejoin his regiment. His future is decided—until he
meets a beautiful woman who has found a new lease on life in the very place
Nate yearns to leave behind.

My Bookshelf: A Fragile Hope by Cynthia Ruchti
Where does a relationship expert
turn when his wife leaves him and he can’t explain why?
Josiah Chamberlain’s
life’s work revolves around repairing people’s marriages. When his own is threatened
by his wife’s unexplained distance—and then threatened further when she’s unexpectedly
plunged into an unending fog—Josiah finds that his expertise, quick wit, and
clever quips are no match for a relationship that is clearly broken.
Feeling betrayed,
confused, and ill-equipped for a crisis this crippling, he reexamines
everything he knows about the fragility of hope and the strength of his faith
and love. Love seems to have failed him. Will what’s left of his faith fail
him, too? Or will it be the one thing that holds him together and sears through
the impenetrable wall that separates them?

Must-Have May Releases
I’m back!!! I know, I have been sorrowfully absent over the
past few months, but I am finally out of school for the summer so I thought it
was time to come back to my blog. I honestly haven’t read a single book—other than
textbooks of course—since I finished The Elusive Miss Ellison back in March, so I haven’t even had much to write
about! But now I will be reading again, and I will have more time to write
about whatever is on my mind, so I am back for at least the summer! And I
thought I would kick it off with one of my favorite types of posts to write: my
must-have releases! Here are my books for this month.

My Bookshelf: The Elusive Miss Ellison by Carolyn Miller
The arrival of the new
Earl of Hawkesbury has the entire village aflutter—everyone except Lavinia
Ellison, that is. In fact, in Livvie’s eyes, he is just as arrogant and thoughtless
as his brother—who stole the most important person in her world.
Nicholas is weighed
down by guilt, by ancestral obligations, and by the legacy of war. He hadn’t
anticipated that a perfunctory visit home would engage either his mind or his
heart. Then the hoydenish, intelligent, and very opinionated Miss Ellison
challenges him to see past his pain and pride. But between society’s
opposition, his brother’s reckless past, and a shocking family secret, there
may be too many obstacles for the two of them to ever truly get along.

My Bookshelf: Rescue Me by Susan May Warren
When Deputy Sam Brooks
commits to something, nothing can sway him—not just on the job as liaison
between the Mercy Falls sheriff’s department and PEAK Rescue, but in his
private life. He’s the one who stuck around to take care of his mother after
his father’s accidental death. And he’s the one—perhaps the only one—who believes Sierra Rose is the perfect
girl for him. Safe, practical, and organized, she’s nothing like her hippie,
impulsive, bleeding heart sister, Willow.
Willow, however, has
been in love with Sam Brooks for as long as she can remember. But she wants her
sister to have a happy ending. Besides, Willow has other things to focus
on—namely, nabbing the job as youth pastor for her small-town church. Best
thing for her to do is to purge Sam from her heart.
Neither can predict
the events that will bring them together in a fight for their lives in the
forbidding wilderness of Glacier National Park. Stranded, injured, and with the
winter weather closing in, Sam and Willow will have to work together to save a
crew of terrified teenagers. As they fight to survive, they might just discover
a new hope for love.

Must-Have March Releases
So, this is actually kind of late, but my must-have releases
posts are some of my absolute favorites, so I still wanted to post my list for
March! Even though it’s definitely already March, I figured this wasn’t too
late to share the books I can’t wait for this month!
