Top Ten Tuesday: Pretty Covers!!!

Today’s Top Ten Tuesday is all about the visuals, so I’m filling my post with some of my favorite new covers of ten books that release this year! I feel like covers are just getting better and better as the years go on, and this year is one of the best yet! There are so many gorgeous covers out there so this was hard to slim down, but I think I’ve managed to get the best ones. So far. I’m sure as soon as I turn around I’ll find another new one I like better. But for now, here are these fantastic ones!

Top Ten Tuesday: Oh How I’ve Missed These Books!

It’s Tuesday again! This is one of my favorite days, partly because Top Ten Tuesday posts are some of my favorite ones to write! And today is a special Tuesday because it’s a FREEBIE!!! Sometimes it takes me a while to come up with a topic, because I’ve already done many of the ones you would most often think of, and I like to come up with a topic that is more out of the box. This week, I think I’ve nailed it! My top ten list today consists of ten books I first read before I even started blogging, but would love to read again because I absolutely loved them! Hopefully, this list will inspire me to do some re-reading, and if I do, I’ll definitely review these gems!

My Bookshelf: A Moonbow Night + A Linkup

In an uncertain time, she faces a choice that will change her life forever.
After fleeing Virginia, Temperance Tucker and her family established an inn along the Shawnee River. It’s a welcome way station for settlers and frontiersmen traveling through the wild Cumberland region of Kentucke—men like Sion Morgan, a Virginia surveyor who arrives at the inn with his crew, looking for an experienced guide.
Though he balks when Tempe is appointed to lead his team through the wilderness, it isn’t long before Sion must admit that her abilities may outmatch his own. But can the tenuous tie they are forming survive the dangers waiting just around the bend?

Top Ten Tuesday: Sadly Underrated

Today’s Top Ten Tuesday is all about the books that I have read in the past year that are totally underrated on Goodreads. This was one of my favorite topics from last year, but unfortunately this year it was really hard to pick just ten books for this list, and for a very sad reason. Almost all of the books I’ve read fall into the “underrated” category! Isn’t that terrible?! However, I can promise that, despite their lack of reviews, these are ten fantastic novels, and you can bet my reviews of them are on Goodreads!

My Bookshelf: An Uncommon Courtship + A Linkup

Lord Trent Hawthorne couldn’t be happier he is not the duke in the family. Free to manage his small estate and take his time discovering the life he wants to lead, he has grand plans of wooing and falling in love with the woman of his choice. When he finds himself honor bound to marry a woman he doesn’t know, his dream of a marriage like his parents’ seems lost forever.
Life for Lady Adelaide Bell was easier when she hid in her older sister’s shadow—which worked until her sister got married. But even with her socially ambitious mother’s focus entirely on her, the last thing she expected was a marriage of convenience before she’s been introduced to society.
With nothing going as expected, can Trent and Adelaide’s marriage of obligation survive their own missteps and the pressures of London society to grow into a true meeting of hearts and minds?

My Bookshelf: For the Record by Regina Jennings

Betsy Huckabee might be a small-town girl, but she has big-city dreams. Writing for her uncle’s newspaper will never lead to independence, and the bigger newspapers don’t seem interested in the Hart County news. Trying a new approach, Betsy pens a romanticized serial for the ladies’ pages, and the new deputy provides the perfect inspiration for her submissions. She’d be horrified if he read her breathless descriptions of him, but these articles are for a newspaper far away. No one in Pine Gap will ever know.
Deputy Joel Puckett didn’t want to leave Texas, but this job in tiny Pine Gap is his only shot at keeping his badge. With masked marauders riding every night, his skills and patience are tested, but even more challenging is the sassy journalist lady chasing him.

Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Meant to Read

Today’s Top Ten Tuesday is all about the books that released in the past year that I was planning to read, but then didn’t for some reason or other. Unfortunately, it was very easy for me to find ten novels for this list because there were quite a few books I was planning on reading this past year but because college is extremely time consuming, I didn’t get around to far more of them than I would’ve liked. So, here are ten of the many releases I didn’t get to read this past year!

December Numbers and January Goals + A Linkup

It’s 2017!!! I don’t know how that’s possible, considering it was just 2015, but somehow it is, and that means it’s time for another year of resolutions! But this year, since I’m a little older and hopefully a little wiser, I’ve decided to cut the resolutions for a change. I never really follow through with them, and I always get disappointed when I fail, so I decided it would be a good idea to do something a little bit more achievable this year. Therefore, I’m going to continue to write these numbers and goals posts in the hope that I can get better at accomplishing them, and I’m going to attempt for the first time ever—which is weird since I’m a writer—to write a journal entry every day this year. Let’s see if I can keep these resolutions!

My Bookshelf: The Innkeeper of Ivy Hill by Julie Klassen

On a rise overlooking the Wiltshire countryside stands the village of Ivy Hill. Its coaching inn, The Bell, is its lifeblood—along with the coach lines that stop there daily, bringing news, mail, travelers, and much-needed trade.
Jane Bell lives on the edge of the inn property. She had been a genteel lady until she married the charming innkeeper who promised she would never have to work in his family’s inn. But when he dies under mysterious circumstances, Jane finds herself The Bell’s owner, and worse, she has three months to pay a large loan or lose the place.
Feeling reluctant and ill-equipped, Jane is tempted to abandon her husband’s legacy and return to her former life of ease. However, she soon realizes there is more at stake than her comfort. But who can she trust to help her? Her resentful mother-in-law? Her husband’s brother, who wanted the inn for himself? Of the handsome newcomer with secret plans of his own?
With pressure mounting from the bank, Jane struggles to win over naysayers and turn the place around. Can Jane bring new life to the inn, and to her heart as well?

Top Ten Tuesday: 2017 Debuts I’m Excited For

Today’s Top Ten Tuesday is all about the debut novels releasing this year that we are excited for, and shockingly enough, this was a very difficult topic for me. I couldn’t find a single debut novel I’m super excited for, so I looked for new series instead, and I still struggled to find ten I’m really anticipating. So, while this is actually a fairly sad length, I am SUPER excited for the eight new series I do have listed here, and I can almost promise they will be really enjoyable!

No Linkup

Happy New Year!

I am so excited that a new year is upon us, and I can't wait to see what it holds! For this second day of the year, my sister and I decided it would be better to wait one more week before bringing back the Grace + Lace Linkup, since we have been so crazy busy because of the holidays. So, next week, we promise we will be back and ready to see all you have been up to over the last few weeks!

I hope your first week of 2017 is fantastic!
